First, I would like to smile at parents because they have given me life and taken all the trouble to bring me up. They arrange almost everything for me. With their help, I have made great progress. I would like to say "thank you" them with a smile. Then my smile should go to myself, or only in this way can I gain more confidence in smiling my troubles away and live a better life.
In a word, let’s greet every day with a smile. Tomorrow is another day.

Another time, in his first year in Princeton, on Christmas Eve, some children sang songs outside his house. When finished, they knocked at his door and said that they were collecting money to buy Christmas presents. Einstein listened, and then said, “Wait a moment.” He put on his scarf and overcoat, and took his violin from its case(箱子). Dear Mike,
How are things going? In your last letter you talked about low carbon life. Now I’d like to share my understanding of it and my experience in the past few months.
With the environment problem coming into attention, it is extremely important that we take action to protect our planet. As more people are determined to make a difference, low carbon lifestyle provides us with the perfect opportunity to do it.
Interest tingly(引起激动的), our school called on students to develop a low carbon lifestyle and become a responsible citizen several months ago. In response to the appeal, I have made some changes in my way of life, which ranges from transportation to water saving. For example, instead of asking my parents to drive me to school, I take a bus to and from school. Just like my schoolmates, I now refuse to use disposable(用完即丢弃的) chopsticks. At home, I even persuade my parents to reuse water, even though it is not so convenient. TV and computer are important entertainment for my family, but we sometimes read instead, which, I think, may help relieve(缓解) the shortage of electricity.
I’m really glad to communicate with you about this topic
Yours
Chen Yu
  1.                        Dead Poets Society(读后感)
My classmates and I enjoyed a nice movie in an English class—Dead Poets Society. It’s about a unique teacher and his students. Each student has his own problems. They had to deal with their problems and fight for their future. So did the teacher. Other teachers disagreed with him because of his peculiar teaching ways. Eventually, the teacher left the school with his students’ respect. The part that impressed me most was the way in which the teacher taught his students. Instead of teaching them the textbooks, he told them numerous(众多的) inspiring theories of life. I think it’s very important for students to learn. Sometimes we feel tired, confused and disappeared, and then we need a teacher to guide us like this. I have had a great ambition(志向) to be a teacher since I was a child. After seeing this movie, I think I have found a new goal to reach in the future.

范文:I still remember how nervous I was on my first day in the new school three years ago, when I found it difficult to follow my teacher in the first English class. The teacher spoke English throughout the class, which was totally different from the lessons I had taken before.    In the morning class the next day, the English teacher came to me while I was reading the text aloud as other students. After listening to me for a while, she gave me a big smile and said she liked my voice very much. The smile shone on the whole day and the following days. A week later, I volunteered to take charge of English study in my class.    Thanks to the comforting smile in my first morning class, I began to be confident.

You cannot choose what you are given, but you can choose how you make use of it.
Three years ago I failed an important exam in my life and became a student in an ordinary school. Disappointed as I felt at the shabby(破烂的) campus and the poorly-equipped classroom, I found the teachers patient and considerate. Besides, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in class. I decided to make the best of it. I worked hard and got along well with my teachers and classmates. Whenever I had difficulties, they were always available. Soon, I became one of the top students in my class, which greatly increased my confidence and got me motivated(有动机的). My experience tells me that it is not what you are given but how you make use of it that determines who you are.
  1. We all know that “sticks and stones may break our bones”, but we should also be aware(意识到) that words can hurt people, too.
Sometimes, bad words are to us what knives to our body. I learned this from one of my experiences that I went through during Senior One school life.
One day, when I was playing volleyball with my classmates in my PE class, I missed several chances that I should have grasped to meet the ball. What surprised me most was that my best friend Peter called me “fool”. I was so hurt that I almost accepted the fact that our friendship came to an endIt was my classmates’ comfort and persuasions(说服) as well as Peter’s apology and explanation that helped me realize he did have a strong sense of cooperation and teamwork. It wasn’t long before I forgave him and we were again close friends as ever.
From this story, I am definitely convinced(确信) that bad words really have bad influence on us, and that only with a good understanding of them can we get through and get along well.(总结)
Working in groups at school is an opportunity to learn about team work. Teamwork shows us how other people’s roles fit the purpose of the group, and it teaches to be patient and how to respond to different people.
It is well-known that teamwork is the most important way of solving problems in life, through which we can complete the task efficiently.
Take myself as an example, I was the leader of a football team. Once in a match, our team failed although all the members had tried their best. Later the coach told us the key point was with teamwork, which means we should cooperate with each other. Realizing the importance of teamwork, finally we succeed.
In conclusion, teamwork can help us play the role of every member at best. Only with teamwork can we make our complicated work easier.
另:Years of school life has taught me a lot of things, of which teamwork is the most important for me.
In fact, I didn’t realize its importance until I was chosen monitor of my class in my senior middle school. At first, I did most of the duties myself while other students care little about class activities. As a result, I was tired out and depressed. Then I turned to my teacher and he advised me to cooperate with others. Thus I began to recognize the strength of my classmates and had everyone do their part in class.
It is working in teams instead of on my own that has freed me of trouble and made my work more efficiently.
10. (2014武昌调考)How can we be happy under the great pressure of the College Entrance Examination? The answer lies in the fact that we can have an objective understanding of our abilities and set a reasonable goal. Furthermore, what really matters is that we have tried our best to achieve them.
In junior middle school, I was one of the top ten students in my school. I was confident and happy. But things have changed since I started senior school. However hard I tried, I was unable to be listed on the top one hundred. I felt stressed and depressed. After thinking carefully, I painfully realized that I was not as smart as I imagined. To my comfort, I have always been doing my best and I have never wasted a single hour. What makes me proud is that all my hard work paid off at last.
In our life voyage, we can’t change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails to reach our destinations. Be realistic and hardworking, and we can always be happy enough to live through our hard school life.
